Serial data corrupted errors are usually caused by one of two things.
Low quality or bad USB cable.
Some sort of power feedback.
Try using a different USB cable. Short, high quality cables are best. You may also want to try a different USB port on your computer. Make sure the USB cable is fully seated in the Helix. Some cables may not fit if the plastic housing around the plug is too wide to fit inside the Helix port.
Power feedback issues can be solved by disconnecting the Helix’s power source. When connecting via USB, the Helix will draw enough current via the USB cable to power up the board. Try connecting via the BaseCam GUI with no power source connected to the Helix other than the USB. Once you establish a connection to the GUI, you can then plug your power source in if you need to activate the motors.
Experience has shown that this error is generally not a serious one, and the data quality protection routines in the SimpleBGC GUI are sufficient to ensure that no profile corruption occurs.
