My iOS app’s Wi-Fi connection disconnects automatically after 4 – 5 minutes

Published on January 4, 2016 in sections Letus Helix App

If your Letus Helix iOS app disconnects after 4 – 5 minutes automatically, giving you an error message, you can change the configuration of the Wi-Fi chip to keep this from happening in the future.

Using a laptop (or iOS device),

  1. Power the Helix using either a USB cable or battery.
  2. Connect to the Wi-Fi chip in iOS settings or using your computer to connect to the Helix Wi-Fi chip (Wi-Fi SSID should start with either Letus Helix or Letus Double Helix).
  3. Enter the Wi-Fi password (77777777).
  4. Open a browser window.
  5. Enter 10.10.100.254 for the URL (web address).
  6. If requested, enter the administrative username and password for the chip (username: admin, password: admin).
  7. If the window appears in Chinese, hit the button on the screen to switch to English.
  8. Select the Other Setting button/tab on the left side of the screen.
  9. Change the TCP Timeout Setting from 300 to 0.
  10. Hit the save button directly under the TCP Timeout Setting blank.
  11. Hit the restart button.
  12. Close the browser window and disconnect from the Wi-Fi chip.
