How to connect to the Helix using Bluetooth

On Windows

  1. Go to Devices and Printers on your computer
  2. Click the Add a Device Button
  3. Click on the Letus Helix (it may take several seconds to appear)
  4. Enter Bluetooth Code: 7777
  5. Wait for the connection to complete
  6. “Letus-Helix” should show up under “Devices and Printers”. Right click on this and select “Properties”, then go to the Services tab and look for the COM port.
  7. Open the BaseCam software
  8. Choose the COM port from step 6 in the Connection drop down menu in the top left corner of the GUI.
  9. Click Connect
  10. If the firmware version is displayed, then your Helix is connected

OSX Users

  1. At the very top of the screen, select the Bluetooth icon and turn Bluetooth on (if not already on)
  2. Select Open Bluetooth Preferences.
  3. Letus Helix should show up in the list of options.  Note that this may take up to 30 seconds for your Mac to list the actual name of this connection.
  4. Hit the Pair button.  When it connection fails, press Options and enter the Bluetooth password (7777)
  5. Close Bluetooth preferences and open the SimpleBGC GUI.
  6. Select the port listed as /dev/tty.Letus-Helix-DevB   (NOT any of the ones listed as Bluetooth)
  7. Click Connect
  8. If the firmware version is displayed, then your Helix is connected.
