Can the SDI pass-through be used for recording?

Due to the nature of the slip ring connections used in the SDI pass-through, we do not recommend using the SDI pass-through as a recording source. We only recommend the SDI pass-through as a preview source, when doing 360 degree rolls with the Helix. We recommend connecting your recording sources directly to the camera.

The GUI says “Motor is missing steps”. What does that mean?
