Can the Helix point straight down?

Published on April 25, 2016 in sections General, Letus Helix, Manuals, Software

All Helix models can point straight down if the correct settings are used, although you will lose the ability to roll the camera 90 degrees or more.  These settings must be changed in the SimpleBGC GUI.  Note that you must have a firmware version of at least 2.56 b2 to make this work.  To make the changes,

  1. Connect to the SimpleBGC GUI.
  2. Go to the RC tab.  Change Min.Angle and Max.Angle to zeros for the tilt axis.
  3. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen.  Change Order of Euler Angles to Camera-Pitch-Roll-Yaw.
  4. Hit the Write button.

This change can also be made on the iOS app by going to the Follow screen and changing the Euler angles setting to “vertical shooting mode.”
